Project

The library of the town of Boom, located in the province of Antwerp and with no fewer than 4,000 members, was completely refurbished in 2019. The aim of the project was to replace the old, outdated structure, which no longer met the needs of its users. In particular, the facility was criticized for not being sufficiently modern, which is why the library turned to Domintell for a solution to this problem.

Solutions

The premises are now equipped with computers, touch-screen tablets for catalog consultation, book scanners and, above all, Domintell technology. On opening in the morning, the alarm goes off, the LED spotlights come on and the shutters open automatically. The building's lighting is managed by the automation system, both inside and out. The entire library is easily controlled at any time via the Rainbow LCD touchscreen at the reception desk, with its six programmable buttons.

The library now has a much more versatile use. It can be used as a space for meetings, thanks to the new meeting room. Sections can be easily moved to create a surface area that can accommodate a larger number of people for the various events offered by the library.

Testimonial

"

The municipal library no longer met the expectations of Boom's population in several key respects. Its structure was not keeping up with the times. During the complete renovation work in March 2019, it was decided to use Domintell technology to help modernize the building and make it a pleasant place to visit for readers, but also to manage on a day-to-day basis. Our priority is to provide access to a wide range of resources in a convenient setting. We therefore wanted to bring together all the conditions necessary to achieve this overriding objective.
