Founded in 1913, Aerts Speculaas was a family-run bakery located in Sombeke, Flanders. Gradually, the company began to specialize in the artisan production of speculoos, which became their flagship product.
Since then, demand has continued to grow. In 2013, following recognition as a regional product by the Flemish institutions, it was decided to move production to a new 500 m² building to meet the demand that had become too high for a small structure. It was then decided that this building located in Lokeren would be equipped with a home automation system in order to optimize its performance. Ideal for small and medium-sized companies, the Domintell system quickly established itself as the reference choice.
Solutions
In fact, the building has been made intelligent with adapted configurations, while retaining unparalleled ease of use. The operation of the new industrial oven and packaging machines is managed automatically according to schedules defined by the managers. In addition, the lighting throughout the site is controlled by automation to keep consumption under control.

With demand now overwhelming, we had to rethink our way of working. This meant a much higher level of production, for which the Domintell system is an invaluable aid.
